Upon graduating from UP, I experienced the nitty gritty of business at the Management Services Division of SGV. I learned a lot about different business functions there from HR to Finance to Operations to IT but more importantly, I understood what it took to develop an excellence driven organization. From there I tried my hand in entrepreneurship by growing and eventually selling a family business raising ducks and making balut and salted eggs. At one point I had the largest duck farm in Rizal province. Married in ’97 and have 2 great boys. Eventually got back to IT and IT enabled services albeit in a business development function. Today I head sales and marketing for a home grown systems integration company. Unlike my siblings and a lot of my batchmates, I’ve stayed in-country probably because one of the most important things I learned in UP is that . . . Life, it’s better in the Philippines!
