How to apply for an ID card                              Click to view Brochure

  1. Get a student ID from the Office of the University Registrar
  2. Pay Php 130 for the ID card
  3. Have your picture taken or make appointment for picture taking
  4. Present the ID and Form 5 (registration slip) to the Library for issuance of ID sticker for the current semester or summer.
  5. If ID is not available yet, present to the Library the Form 5, official receipt for ID, and one 1 x 1 photo

How to borrow reserve books for room use

  1. Give author and title of book to staff at the Reserve Desk
  2. Present ID and sign the book card.  Write your name and student number legibly on book card.
  3. Students may apply for “room use” reservation if so desired.  However, reserve books should be called for on time and must be returned on the hour due.

How to borrow reserve books for overnight use (online reservation)

  1. Log in using your UP Webmail account at http://ilib.upd.edu.ph
  2. Search the title/author of the Reserve Book. (A student is allowed a maximum of 2 reserve books  for overnight use) .
  3. Click the title link to view the record.
  4. Click the “Reserve” button and then click the “OK” button.
  5. Log out from iLib.
  6. Wait for the iLib System email in your UP WebMail when the book is available for loan.
  7. Check out the Reserve Book after 3:00PM.
  8. Give book card and reserve charge slip to the library staff.
  9. Return the book /s not later than 9:00AM the next school day.

How to borrow reserve articles / chapters of book  (in folders) for overnight use (offline reservation)

  1. Get a reservation slip at the control desk at the entrance door.
  2. Fill up the request slip with complete bibliographic information. (A student is allowed a maximum of 5 articles / folders for overnight use).
  3. Drop  the accomplished request slip in the box provided at the reserve counter.
  4. Check out the reserve articles / folders after 3:00PM.
  5. Give accomplished book card to the library staff.
  6. Return the articles / folders  not later than 9:00AM the next school day.

How to borrow  circulation books (General Collection)

  1. Check the availability of the economics books in the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) iLib database.
  2. Copy the call number and go to the open stacks general collection and get the books.
  3. Write your name, college and student number  legibly on the book card. The book card is found on the inside book cover at the back of the book.
  4. Give the books and present your ID to the library staff on desk to charge the materials to you.
  5. Ask for a receipt of the books you are taking out.
  6. Check the receipt if it tallies with the books.
  7. Check due date of the book on the date due slip.
  8. Show the books borrowed for checking at the control desk when leaving the Library.

How to borrow Filipiniana books  for room and home use

  1. Get a book call slip at the desk counter.
  2. Fill up all the information needed (call number, title, author, and your name, student number, and college).
  3. Drop  the accomplished request slip in the box provided at the Filipiniana counter.
  4. Please wait for the books  being searched. Request two titles at a time.
  5. Please give your ID in exchange of the books being requested.
  6. You have to return the books  first before you can request another titles.
  7. If you are borrowing the books for home use, please inform the librarian /library staff and fill out the book cards
  8. Give the books and present your ID to the library staff on desk to charge the materials to you.Ask for a receipt of the books you are taking out.
  9. Check the receipt if it tallies with the books.
  10. Check due date of the book on the date due slip.
  11. Show the books borrowed for checking at the control desk when leaving the Library.

How to borrow  periodicals  for room use

(Periodicals are located on the third floor library and are for room use only)

  1. Get a periodical call slip at the desk counter.
  2. Fill up all the information needed (indicate the exact title of the periodical, date, volume number, issue number, and your name, student number, and college).
  3. Drop  the accomplished request slip in the box provided at the Filipiniana counter.
  4. Please wait for the periodicals  being searched. Request two titles at a time.
  5. Please give your ID in exchange of the periodicals being requested.
  6. You have to return the periodicals  first before you can request another titles.

How to borrow newspapers and magazines

  1. Request the materials at the reserve / circulation counters.
  2. Fill-out the periodical  call slip.  Indicate the title of the materials, date, volume number, and issue number
  3. Give the periodical call slip and ID to the library staff assined.

How to access the Online Public Access Catalog (iLib)

Remote access is possible using any of the following URLs :

How to return circulation and Filipiniana books

  1. Return books borrowed at the circulation or Filipiniana counters.
  2. Get a receipt of all books returned.
  3. Check books returned on the receipt.
  4. Pay fines if book is overdue.
  5. Get your receipt.

How to connect to  DilNet

  1. DilNet wifi access points are strategically located in the UP Diliman campus. These are labeled “Dilnet [xxx]”.
  2. Connect to any of these Dilnet access points to start accessing the web.
  3. Once connected, you may proceed using your internet browser. You will be asked to use a “proxy server” (URL: proxy7.upd.edu.ph and port 8080) to browse the web. Please use this guide on using proxy servers inside UPD.
  4. You will also be asked for your UPD webmail account to successfully access DilNet.
